you would not believe the stuff they put in cat food.
Yeah I know already it's bad. But at least this problem I can avoid by buying it before it gets in it.
In some countries, they feed cats real food, not "cat food". I lost a cat to intestinal inflammation because I thought I was feeding him properly.
I try feeding my cats boiled meat sometimes. If I cut off the fat or something from something I'm cooking for me, I will dice it up and boil it.
Neither of my cats will eat boiled meat with the exception of my newer cat who was a stray. But even he will only eat canned tuna.
Not turkey. Not ham. Not beef. No chicken.
No lunch meat.
Not even bacon!
I don't get why they don't like the best food for them.
I can't give them tuna all the time because of the mercury.
My older cat likes marshmallows. Weird but it is bone meal based.
The stray will eat some wet food so he gets some every day. But my older cat won't touch the stuff.
🤷
I offer to them and then put outside for a local oppossom when they decline.
I don't like to waste animal products so someone gets it.
Try organ meat, perhaps?
Might be worth trying. I'll look into what kinds are safe. I honestly never thought to try that. 👍
Liver, kidneys, heart. Lungs are probably fine too. The thing about organ meat is that it contains a lot of nutrients that aren't necessarily in muscle meat.
Try feeding them raw meat too, instead of boiling it first. That might be what's causing them to reject it.
Idk if it's safe to give them uncooked meat. Parasites. Bacteria.
