You could maybe not rush to judgement quite so quickly. For me, the challenge with pop is that I like to have something sweet and low-calorie with meals when I'm out, and the options are pretty limited. I've switched to a Sodastream (used, with 5lb co2 cylinder) and homemade kombucha for the most part, but when I'm at work and grabbing pizza for lunch at the local place, I have basically a choice between fountain diet coke/pepsi & a can from the vending machine. I could get plain water, sure, but I'd rather have something nicer.

Cove Soda, from the Maritimes, is very good, but it's hard to get my hands on in any kind of quantity. There's various low-cal sodas out there. Trouble is, it needs planning to bring from home, and enough self-restraint to not just drink it mindlessly at my desk! The convenience store near work used to sell it, but they went out of business and I'd have to walk a solid 20 minutes to get to the larger market.

I used to buy Costco flats of coke zero and drink them at my desk, but gave that up (even before the Trump fuckery) because it was an unhealthy amount.

Anyway. I've cut back, but as I said, coke(/pepsi) has been a particular challenge for me.

And jesus, please, just cut me some fucking slack, I'm trying.___

Interesting it sounds like it's diet Coke specifically. Granted you said you used to drink coke Zero but there is apparently a very real, very large group of diet Coke devotees. Like they'll say coke Zero is piss water and if someone offers them a diet Pepsi they'll kill that person's entire bloodline.

I wouldn't be surprised if some people for whatever reason are getting a better buzz out of diet Coke specifically. Not saying it's you, but hey, something to think about.

Oh, I'll drink whatever. Pepsi max, diet pepsi, diet coke. I really like diet dr pepper as well.
