US is also built on stolen IP because american courts refused to enforce european claims. this was happening as late as the mid 20th century.
(yes yes, IP isnt real, but these fucks sure love to pretend it is)
And the US film industry is in California because the courts there refused to enforce Edison's patents. (He thought the right format for film was an arcade machine that plays gifs)
And then they get mad that China is stealing the IP the of the products they made for the US.
In a lot of cases not even stealing it. Technology transfer was a big part of letting foreign companies set up shop in the PRC.
