Hundreds of Lindsay Clancy supporters, many wearing pink clothing emblazoned with phrases such as “Believe,” “She Needed Help” and “Peace For Lindsay,” gathered Thursday outside the courthouse where she is on trial in the killings of her three children.

Several of the 300 women, and a few men, said Clancy’s story resonated with them and that they wanted to raise awareness about how the mental health system treats women. Clancy’s lawyer does not dispute that she killed the children, but says she should not be held criminally responsible because she was mentally ill.

Tl;Dr: This guy watches a brain-damaging amount of TikTok and believes in baseless conspiracy theories.

Most of what just got regurgitated here is complete horseshit. Patrick Clancy has never once been accused of killing these kids. True crime weirdos spread nonsense about anything that trends for views, and the then stupid people take the bait.

It's shameful how many upvotes this comment has. This is brazen misinformation.

I know that this case elicits a lot of emotion from people, it's no excuse to spread harmful misinformation.

EDIT: Honestly, this comment is such bullshit it needs a point-by-point breakdown. You should be ashamed for having posted this.

Virtually every claim in this theory originated on TikTok/unverified true-crime forums and directly contradicts the official court filings, surveillance footage, 911 audio, and statements from both the prosecution and Lindsay Clancy's own defense attorney.

Here is a fact-check of you claims:

"Guy keeps changing his story every time he gets asked about it... Even the prosecutors were caught on hot mic saying to each other 'He didn't do this did he?'"

The Reality: Patrick Clancy’s timeline has remained consistent from the day of the incident. The "hot mic" claim is an entirely fabricated rumor with zero record in official court transcripts, press conferences, or verified audio logs.

"Her ex claimed he talked to her on the phone... But at the time of the 14 second long call, she had already gone out the window, was paralyzed and incapable of speaking at all."

The Reality: The brief phone call took place at 5:34 PM while Patrick was inside the Duxbury CVS asking a pharmacist about Miralax for their daughter. Lindsay answered the phone normally. Patrick did not return home until 6:09 PM, when he found her in the backyard after she had jumped. She was not outside or injured when they spoke on the phone.

"The kids had also been tied up using a sailor's knot, by someone who was left handed. Interestingly, Lindsay is right handed... But her ex is left handed, and is an amateur sailor."

The Reality: The children were not tied up with knots. According to court records and the Plymouth County District Attorney's arraignment statements, the children were strangled using exercise resistance bands. The "sailor's knot" detail is pure internet fiction.

"1 minute after her apple watch read her heart rate at 57 bpm, her ex sent a work email from his laptop located in the basement... Before that came out, he had lied and said their cameras didn't work because their wifi was down..."

The Reality: None of this exists in the evidentiary record. Patrick’s movements between 5:15 PM and 6:09 PM are corroborated by store security footage, time-stamped register receipts, and GPS data. There are no forensic reports or filings citing a basement work email or selective Apple Watch data during that window.

"On top of that, there is footage of him in two different stores shortly after... he is in a completely different outfit in each place... The guy got remarried like 3 months after this all happened"

The Reality:
- Surveillance footage from both CVS and the restaurant (3V's Village Restaurant in Plymouth) showed him wearing the exact same winter jacket and clothing.
- Patrick Clancy has not remarried. He has largely stayed out of the public eye aside from running the 2024 Boston Marathon to raise money for the Boston Children's Hospital's Clancy Family Foundation.

"I think he drugged Lindsay, tossed her out the window, killed the kids, and then left..."

The Reality: Lindsay Clancy’s own defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, has never argued that someone else killed the children or that Patrick was involved. The defense's official legal strategy is centered on involuntary intoxication and postpartum psychosis, arguing that Lindsay's severe mental illness and medication regimen rendered her legally insane at the time of the acts.

Inventing conspiracy theories that accuse a grieving father of murdering his own children runs completely counter to all physical evidence, video surveillance, phone records, and both legal teams' filings. You just can't wrap your head around complex postpartum mental illnesses, and would rather believe anything but that a loving mother killed her kids in a psychotic state.

Ah, so you're lying on purpose. I'm not even arguing with you anymore, because you're deliberately spreading disinformation. I'm just correcting the record to keep others from eating your shit.

Now that the trial has taken place in Plymouth Superior Court, the actual sworn testimony, forensic exhibits, and trial record directly disprove these claims:

"If you actually watch his questioning, he flip flops over and over on things. At one point, one of the prosecutors was asking him about the timeline, and he actually asked them what he did and they told him."

The Reality: Patrick Clancy testified on days 1 and 2 of the trial. His testimony of the timeline remained consistent with his initial statements, GPS data, cell records, and surveillance logs. At no point did prosecutors feed him his timeline, nor was he impeached by defense attorney Kevin Reddington regarding his whereabouts between 5:15 PM and 6:09 PM.

"The children were strangled while they had their hands tied behind their backs. That is what I am referring to when I talk about the knots."

The Reality: Autopsy findings, crime scene photos entered into evidence, and medical examiner testimony established that none of the children had their hands or wrists tied. Exercise resistance bands were used solely around their necks. The claim that the children were bound with "left-handed sailor's knots" does not exist anywhere in the trial record.

"The work email and Apple Watch data I am referring to came up during her lawyer's questioning. The lawyer brought it up with their ISP records. Patrick looked surprised, and suddenly his story didn't align with his previous claim about the wifi being down. The email was sent from his work laptop which was located in their basement, at 5:24..."

The Reality: This entire scenario is fabricated. No ISP records, basement work emails sent at 5:24 PM, or Apple Watch heart-rate discrepancies were ever presented during Patrick Clancy’s cross-examination or at any point in the trial. Patrick was logged on GPS and surveillance in Duxbury and Plymouth during that entire timeframe.

"Patrick's movements between the CVS and restaurant is when he was changing outfits. I have seen the footage and he is clearly wearing different shoes and pants between them."

The Reality: The surveillance video footage entered into evidence from the Duxbury CVS and Three V Restaurant in Plymouth shows him wearing the exact same winter jacket, pants, and footwear. There was no outfit change.

"As far as him getting remarried goes, I have only heard people mention that."

The Reality: Trial testimony did confirm that Patrick and Lindsay Clancy have since divorced and that he has remarried. However, there is zero evidence connecting this to the events of January 2023.

"The CVS he called from is 3 minutes away from their house. And from what I have heard people discuss, the body temperature discrepancy places her outside before that call."

The Reality: Patrick didn't just go to CVS; he drove to Plymouth to pick up dinner at Three V Restaurant (a 54-minute total round trip). Emergency medical responders and trauma doctors testified that Lindsay's injuries and vital signs were consistent with having jumped just minutes before Patrick arrived home and called 911 at 6:09 PM.

"That came up during the trial, after they already began the case with her mental illness defense... If new information comes to light that proves she definitely did it, then I am certainly willing to change my opinion on it."

The Reality: Lindsay Clancy's defense has never claimed she didn't do it. Both the prosecution and defense agree on the physical act; the entire legal trial centered on criminal responsibility and postpartum psychosis. Defense witnesses—including clinical psychologist Dr. Paul Zeizel and forensic psychiatrist Dr. Phillip Resnick—testified that Lindsay suffered from severe postpartum psychosis and command hallucinations that drove her actions.

Trying to frame Patrick Clancy ignores the physical evidence, video surveillance, phone records, and the explicit defense strategy presented in open court.
