I was being laughed at by a brit about using the microwave to boil my water. I took great offense to that and argued a bit with them. I bought a kettle because someone bought me some fancy tea and it needed the control. I'm sorry unknown brit, you were 100% right about the kettle.

Moral of the story: Always trust a brit when they're talking about something to do with tea.

Electric kettle is best. Which is what they mostly use.

They also have 220v house current, making their kettles much faster. But even with 110v mains a kettle is best
