I was also surprised that some people don't even know what a cheese pizza is
Tbf I also just know the euphemic term and quick Google search gives me "cheesy pizza" or quattro formaggi and images that appear to be mozzarella
Is it a regional thing? Some kind of translation mishap? I don't think anyone in Canada who has been inside a pizza shop wouldn't know what a cheese pizza is. Quattro formaggi literally translates to 4 cheese so I don't think that would be misunderstood.
I've never been to Canada. What I can find is that it's essentially a mozzarella pizza but maybe with cheaper ingredients (?)
It's literally a pizza with just cheese on it
