I have a 4090. I got it msrp at B&H on fluke several years ago. I will never build another flagship machine if the gpu alone is 5k. Another 1k for ram, 1k motherboard / CPU / accessories. Call it $500 for nvme drives. $7500 / 8000 to build a flagship off the shelf machine is nuts. I'll just get out of the hobby.
I'll just maintain my rig for as long as it keeps trucking on. I used to build a new 2-3k machine every 3-4 years for the past 18 years, but there's just no point to it. The returns are marginal now and prices are ludicrous.
