i love my country deeply but it doesnt love me in terms of my beliefs. i often consider leaving the NATO aligned world

I love the land: the blistering sunshine, the vast expansive desert, the impenetrable bush. I love some aspects of the culture, like being able to call your boss a dickhead and not be punished (assuming they're being a dickhead or it's playful). Increasingly the good aspects of the culture are being eroded by the hostile competition capitalism sows among people. The politics are awful and removed, talking points of the arch conservatives of yesteryear would now be identified as woke nonsense.

The brutal past is awful, and I resent the lack of reckoning with that and the ongoing horror being afflicted on the native peoples.
