~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.
~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

The Enterprise D didn’t do much long range exploration. It spent a lot of time shuttling diplomats, and seemed to get back to Earth at least every other year.

Bit Riker, Geordi, and the Crushers were already at this Farpoint Station. How did they get there? At the very least, they preceded the humans on the Enterprise!
I kind of like how they (don't openly) address it in The Orville. If you pay attention to where they are or where they're headed during a lot of episodes, they're basically doing local milk runs most of the time.
Which makes sense given that the Orville isn't supposed to be a tip of the spear ship. It is near the Cerritos in terms of its mission profile.

One must be prepared for anything when interacting with an alien race for the first time. But we don't do that.
