This exact situation happened to me like 2 years ago. I was on a smoke break came out to basically this exact picture but different looking kitty. I had seen the poster out there for a while and didnt think the cat was still kickin by this point and he was clearly desperate, let me pick him up and immediately curled up inside my sweater while I called the owners. They had basically given up as well and were soooo happy. I found 3 missing cats that year. I walk everywhere, take pictures of posters so I have the number if I find em, cause cats really like me and I've pieced together the cat in front of me was the same as one i had seen on missing posters and didnt have the contact info handy.
