I'll probably get the foldable Google Pixel in six years and will install GrapheneOS on it.
I doubt the folding mechanism will last that long and they might not be easily available by then.
I have a Pixel 9 Pro Fold with GrapheneOS on it. Supposedly, the hinge has been tested to 200k folds with no issue, and it does indeed feel solid. I only use the inside screen a few times a day max though, so there's no way I'm going to verify anywhere close to 200k folds before something else fails or just gets too outdated. It might not hold up for someone who abuses their tech a lot, but I haven't broken a single phone screen in 20 years often just running with a case and no screen protection, and I expect I'm not the only one in that market.
It's worth mentioning that I bought the phone new and unlocked but at a massive bargain ($720 USD). I definitely would not have grabbed it near full price.
Wow. Guess you have a wildly different definition of what a bargain is. I'd never even consider paying that much for a phone.
And I hope this will meet all your needs 🤗
