Didn't they temporarily jerry rig warp travel for the entire station in one of the first episodes when the wormhole was discovered, to beat the cardassians to it.
No, they just bodged the manouvering thrusters to be able to act like impulse engines.
Ah. Right.. I knew there was some form of increased speed.
