My one friend growing up who is police, he is the sweetest dude. I trust him with my life. He's about as leftist as I am, just his dad's police, his grandad's police, ect ect ect. You can't really change systems when everyone in them believes different than you. Like the lady at the farm two miles down the road was an astrophysicist before she joined the police force. Got injured, now she runs a farm. She's cool as fuck. Just, you have to do bastardy things on the job.
Right! Point was, my friend, we'd sit around the lunch table doing king of the hill impressions in high school. He had the best Dammit Bobby. I attribute a lot of his current sanity to KoTH
But that's the only time you can change systems.
I know what you mean though. When I was in the military, I heard some crazy conspiracy theories about how Obama was turning the country communist and he did all these steps that proved it. Yeah I knew he was an idiot beforehand but after that I just disregarded his opinion about anything.

i was there in 2009ish and we were speculating about deepwater horizon turning into a fire-icane. you know, when a hurricane picks up so much spilled oil that whoopsie poopsie now it's on fire. i mean while we weren't gossiping about the 2009 version of jade helm. shit was crazy. I did get to take part in the dildo protest tho. texas is fun if you know where to look.
so, uh, we got one of those fireicanes to look forward to in the future i'm sure tho. that's fun.
