You'd think they'd have lights that can self adjust their direction based on the vehicle's angle and if it is turning. I'd love to have headlights that show me where I'm turning for things like pedestrians crossing in unlit areas. They had these on the 1948 Tucker.
My Subaru has those and it doesn’t do what you expect. In that case, it’s literally another set of lights synchronized with the steering wheel. There are no moving parts.
I seem to remember from a documentary on the Tucker that the moving parts caused reliability issues
My friends 2016 had what you're describing but my 2021 Subaru has the turning ones that actually swivel. It does a fun little going cross-eyed dance when you turn it on to make sure it's working or something.
