I got no idea what you do, which makes most analysis questionable, but Mac (unix) is like 90% Linux (for the layman at least).
Also hardware is generally superior for most things that don't require an Nvidia card (gaming/AI).
Uuh let's say "data analysis" that is actually done in servers so I don't actually need like a fancy video card as if I worked with say CAD for example
Crazy they won't let you use Linux for that. Just IT being lazy (I'm IT). Get Windows, then boot it up with a Linux distro on a flash drive with persistent storage!
No company would allow a user to do that lol
