I just had a shop tell me that it might not be worth doing the work to safety a 14yo car I bought recently. and the dealership told me that one of the bumper mounts I need is no longer available.
it's not a fucking 90s car, it's a 2012. how the fuck is a simple $50 part shared across several models not available for a 2012
Wow, the newest car I have is a 2002 lx470 lol, rest of my stuff is 80s/90s, mostly Toyota....hell my 1950s MUTT I can still get parts for.
Try finding a different mechanic. Dealerships are usually there to get you to trade in the car for another one. They don't call them stealerships for nothing.
Can you share the car brand?
Hyundai.
Thanks! Good to know.
yeah, I only bought it because it's one of the last small wagons you can get that is a reasonable price and doesn't have dangerous or annoying tech (touchscreens, LED headlights, etc)
with all the other shit Hyundai is doing I wouldn't buy a new one. although that goes for most manufacturers. everyone is anti-customer
So true. It's hard to find any company that is not anti-consumer anymore.
