All that reading at a uni level in grade school did for me was make me utterly surprised when we had to peer review papers my second year of uni and I'm gazing down 5 pages with no complete sentences, the only punctuation used is in the complete wrong way, and misspellings of words that I know are on every office program's spell checker. Fast forward a few years and POTUS has the oratory skills of a fifth grader and I might lose my programming job because marketing and sales haven't managed to sell the product in years (I work on an end user product for one of the largest companies in my field whose primary focus is enterprise b2b sdks; if end user continues at this pace there's a chance they drop the whole division EOQ3).
