We're reaching into another Selection Bias style event, wherein the folks who can afford A/C or simple endure the misery a bit longer get to say "Not a big deal, stiff upper lip, yadda yadda". Meanwhile, the folks who are bankrupted by skyrocketing utilities and killed by heatstroke don't get to pen any Op-Eds or deliver sanctimonious diatribes on national news broadcasts about the innate Britishness of being miserable.
