Steven Universe was the first show that came to my mind too. And my issue isn't, "They should have murdered the diamonds." No one said that in this post or thread.
However, the fact that they just get forgiven with basically no consequence is a problem. Consequences don't have to be murder. But they kind of just agree to do the right thing from then on, while still staying in charge. We all know none of it works that way in the real world. There's no combination of words that someone could say to, for example, turn Trump into a good person.
They don't stay in charge, and they are also tasked with fixing all the corrupted and shattered gems from the war. So they give up their political power and fix their mistakes. I don't know what further consequences (that would be kid-show appropriate) they should get.
