Welcome to the News community!
Rules:
1. Be civil
Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.
2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.
Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.
3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.
Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

The fuck does this mean? We have footage of them speaking its not some opinion. And I dont believe it I know these fascists would crush those they could. Or did you miss the concentration camps lining all our states? The US is currently taking all the lessons they learned oppressing people abroad and bringing it home. People are being shot for being the wrong color at the wrong time on a scale we've never seen. Highly doubt you could even appear to interfere with such a brazen operation without dying if they did that.
Don't freak out, we're on the same side and I think we're both seeing and saying the same thing, but I'm going to keep staying calm about it and talking in measured tones while I work methodically against it. You are of course welcome to react to this situation however you see fit, but I do think it's important to realize that lashing out with aimless but ultimately impotent rage isn't going to help anything and potentially even serves their purposes. If their fascist system has already grown dangerously strong, then we must grow our own efforts into an even stronger system to be capable of fighting it and ultimately winning against it. Part of that is reaching out to and educating people who are still on the fence or don't fully understand the situation, I don't think you're my target audience for this kind of comment, so I hope you're not taking my suggestions personally.
I'm on both of your sides and I will fight alongside the both of youse.
That’s my struggle. There’s a big difference between methodologically and opportunistically, unless the method is opportunity.
What methods do you have?
So often, it feels like there’s nothing to do. I don’t have a method but I do have an open mind for opportunities. Such as the protests, which I’ve attended. What more, though?
There’s not enough organized opposition, not enough groups with goals to align oneself with. There’s nobody who can employ concerned citizens under the common cause of fighting back. There’s no secret groups working in the shadows on a long term plan to hit back. There’s just the fucking mess we’ve had for the past decade.
Yapping on Lemmy is about all I've got. j/k
Seriously though, I think getting involved and active locally is the absolute best thing anyone can do. No matter where you are, what your situation is, the answer lies in other people like you. Talk to everyone you can. Support local businesses. Get involved in local politics. Hang out at your local library. Build a resilient local community. Volunteer with local youth. Yeah, it's cliche, no it won't solve all the problems we're facing at this actual moment but that's where the grass grows from, it starts at the grassroots. It's not demonstrative, it's participative. We've been robbed of our sense of community, sabotaged from building neighborhoods, told that talking about politics is a mortal sin and convinced that it is dangerous. That undermines actually finding any common ground with our neighbors and that's really where it all started going wrong. In an increasingly interconnected world, our physical neighbors are not less important, they are more important, they are our anchor to the real world that we all actually live in no matter how much we may try to hide from it virtually. They have divided us, and now they are conquering. We need to stop being divided and start to connect with all the other human beings around us again.
