That’s for sure, but I would not be happy if “better than the republicans” is the standard.
Also, we really owe a debt of gratitude to the women that came forward, at great personal cost. It shouldn’t have come that far.
It shouldn't have come this far. It should have been revealed as soon as he became a leading candidate. We don't owe gratitude for putting things off until it would throw the fate of the whole country into chaos rather than just be "oh well, obviously he shouldn't be chosen". No one handled this well and now we're all going to suffer for it.
And just to make it clear, this is Platner's fault first and foremost and his selfishness is leagues worse than anyone else, but fuck, people are dying because of votes Susan Collins made and everyone involved in this fiasco treated it with the seriousness of a small town drama.
We all ignored the warning signs. Everyone chose to disbelieve the first woman that came forward. Please stop pretending this was the first hint of inappropriate behavior on Platner's part.

If someone like Susan Collins or similar is elected instead, someone who will just create more young rapists in the future, you'll be morally more inferior, irresponsible and abhorrent than a rapist or even a terrorist. You'll be an enabler, which is worse: Someone who allows the environment for those monsters to thrive and spread further.
Some of the most important people you need to turn the tables against the Jeffrey Epstein Class are in the military, which is filled to the brim with rapists and killers, people with hardened nerves that can actually punish those monsters. Not you. It's already clear you don't have the balls to jail, let alone kill a pedophile like Trump. Your president raped children. Your Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, is still a proud rapist who raped multiple women, even his own mother texted him, begging him to stop raping. Matt Gaetz also fucked children. As a Mexican whose grand grandfather escaped Lebanon in the Middle East, if you elect someone like Susan Collins, or someone very similar, it means more of my people will continue to suffer in misery, be killed and raped. Some by American troops themselves. So, to me, you're worse than a terrorist for this hate you show to Graham Platner. In Mexico, we have been FORCED to support people way worse than a rapist or mere killer to be able to make the country better. And it did get better, because what mattered most were the actions and ideas, not the personality or who the person was at that moment. That's why the quote "Never meet your heroes" exist. Why are you still trying to purity test everyone if you are already morally inferior? Why waste time? Just focus on winning and dismantling this system asap already.
When you were young, were you rich or poor? Did you ever interact with children that came from very poor neighborhoods at school? Children who were truly broken from the start, their parents doing domestic violence, especially in poorer countries or cities like here in Mexico. Some of them are victims of sexual abuse. A lot of them get forced or recruited to a cartel when they are as young as 12. We have the infamous "El Ponchis" a 11-year old whose job was to decapitate people. That was a decade ago, he received a lot of therapy and help, and it is said he has changed and reformed. Of course the scar is still there and it must be hard to look at him in the eyes, but this is Humanity, dog. If you cannot navigate through it, then you shouldn't be even trying to interact with it. You're only causing more death and destruction with your relentless loyalty to your own image, not what it's best for Humanity at the moment.
Seriously, time will only tell: If you elect someone whose policies are worse than Platner's, another corpo or Susan Collins or someone like her, you'll be more morally reprehensible and disgusting than Platner himself. That's the deal here, whether you like or not, it is the bet you just made.
I don't think he cares about non-whites like you may. I think he hates capitalists, or billionaires, or whatever homunculus he's created in his mind that embodies the ruling class.
