Altogether, I estimate that the U.S. Empire is responsible or shares responsibility for close to 300 million deaths. The almost inconceivable loss of life in these endless holocausts arguably makes this country exceptional, though in a strikingly different way than its apologists intend. As this book makes clear, this succession of catastrophes will continue as long as the imperium exists.

This is just the US, so that's a still limited scope in terms of capitalism in total, especially considering european colonialism and future/current deaths from capitalist made climate change.
