He's right.

If Finland enters the war, Russia can look forward to 2x the drone strikes on its fossil fuels and 2x the rate of 200/400 cargo

Even if Finland isn’t ready to go with the drones, you know Ukraine is shipping hundreds to take advantage of new launch sites!

Are you advocating for war crimes?

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 18 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Fuel refineries are legitimate military targets. You're getting confused between fuel refineries and schools, Russia often makes that mistake. They look so similar.

Bombing civilian infrastructure is a war crime.

Lol.

Bridges also are, right? And civilian factories producing electronics, that the military happens to use, right? What is allowed to be targeted?

Maybe the Russian people should do something to ensure they stop being attacked. It's all on them, not the defenders. Meanwhile, Russia is striking apartment buildings.

Military bases are allowed to be targeted.

[–] Cethin@lemmy.zip 1 points 3 minutes ago

That's all? You aren't allowed to attack logistics? Logistics are how you wage war. There has literally never been a war ever that didn't target logistics. You're saying the defenders should be restricted to only targeting military bases, while the invader is attacking civilian housing?

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 0 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Clean civilians as a war crime. I'm not sure how many civilians on the regular take a wander through an oil refinery.

[–] quick_snail@feddit.nl 1 points 3 hours ago

Killing civilians is another war crime. There's a lot: bombing civilian infrastructure, killing civilians, collective punishment, moving civilians into militarily occupied lands, killing PoWs, etc

Every US president since WW1 is a war criminal.

Usually powerful criminals don't get convicted

From your linked article:

Russia's call for an emergency meeting despite its own attacks on Ukrainian civilians was also questioned by several nations.

Pretty much every nation in war commits war crimes. I would seriously struggle to find a country or entity that didn't... People don't just have the soldiers line up nicely and shoot at each other until one side surrenders.

Pretty rarely do countries get investigated or convicted for war crimes... The worst like the US and Israel just ignore it either way.

Exactly, other guy was implying only one side does that.
