If I were rich I’d open up a bunch of repair cafes that lost money but helped people fix their stuff and keep it out landfills and taught people valuable soldering/electronics/programming/DIY skills while bringing the community together with volunteers and cheap coffee! Ah, that’s the dream..

I think we might have a similar work background. Mechatronics is so much fun. To do a little of everything, CAD, 3D printing, soldering, wood working, welding, programming and then have something functional that didn't exist before is so enjoyable. Same with upcycling like what you're saying. Seems like something that could be a feature added onto select libraries as they are fundamentally for the philanthropic sharing of knowledge.

A friend in college had an idea for a website like this kind of centered around skill sharking aka people would post skills or ask for help and trade work to better their community. Example being someone's bike is broken and then someone who is handy helps them and they get the "karma" on the website.
