Since when does a browser nonprofit need to have any focus on sports?
It's to get people talking about it (and it's clearly working)
Those who mattered never really stopped. The problem is, how much can you talk about? They're owned opposition by Slopabet/Gooslop. The new mascot is a waste of money and time.
Everything but the browser needs to be jettisoned at this point. It needs to go back to being a 100% standards-compliant browser, ejecting all Gooslop promoted DRM and everything not independently entered by the W3C into the standards. It needs to be a knife at the throat of Gooslop, Micro$lop, Slopazon, Cloudfront, and the rest of the corporations which continue to take power away from the people online.
Mozilla has a bit of a habit of doing shit it doesn't need to do
It's only half non profit.
Another good reminder of my desire to drop this browser. The question is whether it's Ungoogled Chromium, or some Firefox forks available on Android and desktops.
Librewolf has been good for me so far on desktop, Waterfox on Android.
a lot of people get excited for sports and for something that happens when that countdown ends
people working at firefox probably were some of those people and thought that, considering the event is so popular, it would help with exciting and not hurt anyone
