TESCREALISM is a billionaire ideology which aims to create super-intelligent AI as a "worthy successor to humanity".

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TESCREAL

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1dIC287Zz0

The ruling class is most likely gonna put particles into the atmosphere to cool down the planet (With unforeseeable consequences for the rest of us of course) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stratospheric_aerosol_injection

They put "AI data-center" satellites into the orbit that so they can continue their pursuit of super-intelligent AI even after fucking the sky. In addition, the reentry of said satellites has the potential to destroy the ozone layer.

We are almost certainly gonna experience societal collapse within our lifetime.

the "satellite data centers" is a scam as well, it makes no fucking economical or technological sense, so good news, we can all calm down ๐Ÿ˜‚ some bad billionaire's fanfic is not necessarily the future of humanity.

Yeah, I'm still amazed anyone takes that seriously.

Even if you can somehow solve the heat problem...

Data Centers on Earth need maintenance. Onsite personnel.

What we're gonna space bus up astronaut/it specialists, just, on a regular basis?

... We're gonna have humanoid robot technicians?

Or what, just grow short lived human clones like fucking Blade Runner or Moon, who 'think' they're real people, but are actually just an orbital slave caste?

didn't Microsoft try to submerge data centers, same principle of unmanned remote data centers but orders of magnitude easier in every aspect, no rockets, no cosmic radiation, no heat problems... and it completely failed, similar when artic data centers.

the only appeal is that if they succeed in making unstaffed remote datacentres, they can still use their cloud services from their bunkers after society collapses.

just because they destroyed the planet doesn't mean they don't want to ask chatgpt to make them pictures of themselves as jesus.

I hadn't heard of MSFT doing that, but I could swear I just read about China trying this.

Wouldn't surprise me that either actually are or are at least trying to.

Of course... then... you're just dumping a heat generator... into an already warming ocean.

So... thats maybe not great.

Bioshock! But data centers.

Yeah, underwater welding is not exactly safe or easy....

I think the biggest issue was having a server that requires zero maintainance.

Ask any IT person about how often they need physical access to the server.

It'll make sense once people start demolishing AI data centers on earth.

no, it won't, the problems are still there. lifting anything to orbit is incredibly expensive, communication with it hard, cooling somewhere between highly complicated and impossible, and maintenance still impossible.

it will be a lot easier to just start shooting into people trying to demolish the data center on earth.

the problem and perceived solution is a lot like this:

Yes, but billionaires completely fail to understand or refuse to accept that they are living on earth off the rest of us.

whether they do or don't, i fail to see how it connects to discussed problem. they are fucking greedy sociopaths, they are not going to do something that is technologically impossible and would lose them money.
