our language was banned to till 2013, and also saying they “gave” apo an island is like saying they “gave” a bunch of gang members alcatraz, they’re forcefully keeping him there. oppression got so bad it needs its own wikipedia page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_rights_of_Kurdish_people_in_Turkey
