  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

bullshit leftist feelgood article

Are you saying they are lying and that the USA aren't effectively losing the war in Iran? I think you're wrong.

people share these articles to make themselves feel like something is being done

You can't know why OP shared that article.

And I think you over- or underestimate people's happy comments here. Being happy that Trump fucked up and won't be glassing a Middle Eastern country is one thing - "Copium" is another. I honestly don't think any of the roughly 30 comments here are unaware that things are still very much fucked up in the USA.

I'll concede one point to you though: many concentrate too much on hating Trump the person, not the whole admin.

Assuming you live in the USA you still have my deepfelt empathy though. Can't be easy.

Are you saying that the American public will give one single fuck about this? I think you're wrong.

Im not happy when he suffers setbacks. Because he lashes out and does crazy shit to bury it in the news cycle. I dont even think I'll be happy when hes gone because they've set up the foundations to never lose power again. The Maga cult may die with him, but the republicans will still be going. This is not going to end. We're still dealing with the effects of presidents from 50 years ago.

You must understand that my bitterness comes from being a trucker in rural areas and living in the south US. I have met the dumbest people alive. I've had conversations with several people all over the country who openly admit that Trump is damaging America, but "If we elect a democrat, there wont be an America!" These people openly support him, despite their lives being significantly worse, admittedly because of Trump. They've been radicalized to think Leftists are baby-eaters or whatever particular flavor of conspiracy thats rattling around in their head. I have met and interacted with countless people who truly believe these things. Thats not even mentioning the news cycle and algorithms pushing this radical stuff onto people. We are fucked.

I feel you, I really do.

Maybe I see it differently not only because I don't live there and don't suffer directly, but also because I see how other countries - both their leaders and their people - react.

And I maintain: being gleeful about this one thing doesn't mean all the other things you're saying. Maybe you should try it too.
