Thanks , I can't listen to him ramble. My hand uncontrollably goes on my forehead and I get embarrassed that almost half of Americans voted for this fucker.

75 seconds from we don’t how to build ice breaking ships

Finland is going to build us 11

Some of the 11 will be built in US

We’ll have 55 very soon…

~22% of the population voted for him. Yeah, that's still too much, but it isn't anywhere close to a majority

[–] MBech@feddit.dk 1 points 9 hours ago

Maybe so, but almost 40% of the population thinks he's doing a good job.

277 million Americans were 18 or older in 2024. 77 million voted for Trump. That's ~27%.

[–] RampantParanoia2365@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Yes I know. And the ~30% who apparently stayed home voted for him, too, if those figures aren't a complete fabrication.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 hours ago* (last edited 6 hours ago) (1 children)

They didn't vote for him, but they did unintentionally help him win.

[–] RampantParanoia2365@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Nah. They may not have participated in the poll, but they did vote for it by abstaining.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 0 points 3 hours ago

No, that's not how that works. Equating someone who actively votes for Trump with a third-party voter or non-voter is BS. YES, they effectively helped him win by their actions, but motive matters.

It's really quite double plus ungood, but it's good that a citation was provided.

Thanks for requiring a clip or source. It’s easy for anyone to slap text on a picture and claim it as truth or “just a joke”.

I think it needs to be an archived link of the tweet... I suspect the problem is tweets getting deleted, not so much the veracity of the quote (which is well documented)

At least... I hope. Because otherwise that would be dumb.

I guess I'm dumb, lol. I originally started doing it because the propaganda and lies being spread through memes in this community were a lot. Most of the people, like 99.9% in this community, are awesome. They'll help if a poster doesn't understand.

Of what Tweet? This is at a live event.

[–] ImgurRefugee114@reddthat.com 1 points 8 hours ago

Its a screenshot of a tweet .. So presumably that tweet.

However the mod responded already; seems they wanted an archive of the clip.
