exceptions are where peasants, workers, and revolutionary bourgeois overthrew colonially controlled states, also Russia and China are prominent exceptions that warrant their own histories separately and together

STFU, Tankie. China and Russia are two of some the most corrupt kleptocratic oligarchic nations on earth. The poor have literally no rights in those countries and are used as an expendable resource by the powerful families.

In what way am I a Tankie? What i meant was, that given the exclusive cases, the size of their economies and their special histories, i believe they are exceptions to your definition.

I am not a Tankie, I am not a Marxist-Leninist. I can't imagine what would possess someone into believing it is appropriate to reply "STFU " to a good-faith response to your comment on a thread about the truthfulness of Marx.

I am a Marxist, and thought it would be fun to interrogate your views on this public forum. But I believe you are on some shit

How could I reply to you in a way that is both up front about my own ideas but also discussing your ideas, so that I don't have to be treated like some disgusting pest? Be real

Tankies support the autocratic regimes like China and the USSR, the eastern block so to speak, and by claiming to be a Marxist while also claiming that China is communist you have aligned yourself with and defended their system of corruption. I could be convinced you're just somehow mistaken but I highly doubt you're here in "good faith".

I made a comment not long ago where I say that I am open to interpretation re: defining China's economy. I'm an admirer of Chinese culture, language, and I have a historic interest in the Chinese socialist project, in how it is understood inside and outside China, how it figures into international stage. I'm still learning about China, at my own pace, so I'd happily look over any resources.

I'm not aligned with Tankies on certain issues, for example, I'm critical of political "Stalinism", and generally cool toward the Russian Revolution after 1921. You could consider me a left-critic of USSR and China, in certain ways. I'm less favorable toward Dengism. to choose a particularly controversial example, thanks to my poli-ed, I've had the opportunity to read first hand accounts of Tienanmen Square from British Militant Troyskyists that lead me to believe that the Tankie story is, to be as generous as possible, not the whole story.

I'm reluctant to call the current state of China "Stalinist," but the history is there. Bureaucracy, cybernetics, I find it to all be a bourgeois delusion. If you want to know my opinion of Marxism-Leninism, it the ideology of state bureaucrats. But my experiences organizing with MLs, in DSA and other groups like PSL, have been good faith and productive. Being in the struggle means more to me than ideological purity. Because real world human need solves the problems of sectarianism. My interest in the CCP is historical or intellectual. I would be most interested in talking to people in oppo groups, esp like Chinese Trotskyists or anarchists, or something. But most interested in getting to know people rather than debate or define the degree to which the CCP is socialist and to what degree they are capitalist.

What we might agree on, is that since the CCP has abandoned the Marxist view of class antagonisms as the fundamental driver of human history, they have moved away from a revolutionary practice of Marxism, toward a theoretical and intellectual practice; that is, merely interpreting the world and not trying to change it. However, I do think it would be hard to argue China isn't changing the world.

This reads like you cucked me into trying to prove to you I'm not a "Tankie", which in truth I think you have demonstrated too much eagerness to affix the label. Also I quite like many "Tankies" even if we can't see eye to eye on issues of internationalism, some other dead generation's garbage, etc.,

I feel bad that you've had experiences that lead you to believe that I might be trying to trick you in that way. I'm someone who really cares about truth and progress. I believe in not just thinking critically, but acting critically. That is what I get from Marx, and that is a large part of how I define revolutionary Marxism, and communism. So questions about China and Russia are actually quite immaterial to me, I just mentioned them since I believe you excluded them, and they were still worth mentioning as an exception. I've had arguments with the most prominent Tankies on the Lemmy platform on the subjects of Russia and China.

You can dismiss me as a "Tankie" but I am earnest. Hopefully I can persuade you that there might be political stuff worth talking about that isn't completely mired in sectarianism and campism from every side.
