About a year ago the RAM in my PC died, so I went back to my old one. Said old PC was built in 2014. It has DDR3 RAM and a Haswell CPU. After an overclock, it worked perfectly fine - at least as a stopgap.

It isn't the '90s anymore. PCs no longer become obsolete days after you purchase them.
