I first shared that at !comicstripedits@lemmy.world, where we take classic comics and edit them in to ridiculous new shizzle. I really did believe it was someone's edit, at first, but NOPE-- it turned out to be almost impossibly, improbably authentic.

Bottom line? There's never been a proper explanation, body of behavior (on Batman's part) or even cultural context to explain why he blurted out "quiet, or papa spank!"
So, another mystery for the ages, I suppose...
They didn't help their case by failing to parse what panel was in question.
Boo-fuckin-hoo, you posted the whole page and they posted just the panel. Sure, they could have given a few more seconds to look over, but you coming out swinging immediately falsely claiming "AI" is what's not winning you any prizes.
Oh LMFAO now you're against people trying to keep AI out? Suddenly your attitude makes a lot sense, didn't realize I was talking to a slopper.
I'm saying be smarter about it, don't attack random people who aren't posting AI slop (because this still isn't AI, no matter how much you want to be a justified asshole). Actually learn the signs of what an AI altered image will look like.
Don't confuse simple photo editing with your blind hatred for AI use.
