Yeah that "doing fine" mentality is exactly the problem.
I shit you not Americans would not believe 90% of the interactions I have with my family, or the Finnish authorities.
So either it's me being super biased because Turku is the asshole of Finland and I've mostly lived here all my life (and born in a rural village who's people are arseholes compared to people from Turku) and the rest of Finland is fine.
Ooor it's the whole damn country because everyone wants to delude themselves that we have no serious issues.
We do.
Several. There's actually a high threat of authoritarianism, which is exacerbated by Finns not fucking believing it.
Go ahead and explain a legal way in which a person is kept in an isolation cell for three days while the lights are kept on (and there's no mattress or blanket, they added those for the photo), he doesn't eat or sleep, while the people keeping him locked up don't give him his prescribed antipsychotic medication when he's literally eating himself and drawing with blood on the walls.
For THREE (3) DAYS STRAIGHT.
Tell me of a legal way that happens. They tried suing me for vandalism of the cell, that's the only reason I have the photo. I tried asking for the video through a lawyer. The lawyer said he's never heard the cops be so uncomfortable, then they said they don't have it (despite the law that mandates systems like that actually keep them) and then suddenly the charge for vandalism vanishes. I try suing the cops for abuse. Not even a reminder to them.
That's the level of society we're at.
So while we might be great with some social programs compared to other counties and while we might be good in IT and especially mobile networks, our society is archaic as fuck when it comes to certain aspects.
I would not have believed this before enduring it, so i don't think you will either.
Corrupt power abusing cops aren't exactly rare nor do they have any bearing on the country of finland as a whole. And using the US of all places as a positive example in that case is just ludicrous. I have no reason to doubt you were wronged, but that also doesn't mean shit for how the average person feels about their life.
No, a single corrupt cop wouldn't.
But the fact is it wasn't a single cop. It was the entire department, because I spent several days in the cell, when they knew I was in there, LITERALLY eating myself bloody means that it was the whole department.
Or can you explain a legal way that happens, please? And how after the fact, I'm still having to argue people like you, pretty much saying "no biggie".
I tried suing them. I tried taking it to the ombudsman. I tried everything. Not a single Finnish person is ready to actually talk about how this could have happened in our country. It's such a massive and intentional fuckup that we need to see how it could have happened in the first place. To dismiss it like that is to invite authorianism.
Please explain to me how this doesn't show that the entirety of the Finnish justice system is bullshit? How come no-one is willing to discuss literal torture. They didn't even need to put me in jail in the first place. For the same exact crime, you usually get a fine. No reasoning. There was no warrant either, although they function differently in Finland one is still required, even when it's usually a verbal one. The one I got was backdated by two months.
And you're dismissing this instead of getting worried? THAT is the issue.
Damn dude you should probably see a professional and stay off the drink for a while.
Want to explain any reasonable way that can happen legally, even if I was the most despicable drunk of all times?
And I wasn't drunk. I wasn't in public. They came to my home. And when they did, I held onto my rights, even when I know Finland has nothing but assholes like you. And I actually influenced the very laws of our fucking nation.

What have your morals achieved?
I'm going to take a guess your the asdhole and not the whole country.
Uuh, yes, such a witty argument for why one would torture a person; they're annoying.
Please, can you imagine a legal way that happened, or are you just as much of an asshole as everyone Finnish who's ignoring this?
