I resent needing to renew my passport (lemmy.blahaj.zone)

Before I start my little rant, I want to speak to the liberals in the wall. I am not, nor have I ever been, a sovcit. Anarchists and sovcits share a resentment for these documents, but that's where the resemblance ends.

I'm a prominent union organizer within my industry (tech) and was recently extended the offer to travel to California to represent my union at a conference next month. I love going to union conferences, so of course I accepted. That's when I remembered that my passport is expired by a couple years, and I further realized that I don't have a real id. So now I need to get a new passport.

I decided that I want a passport card along with my book, because a card would be easier to carry for this conference. This shit is expensive! $130 for renewal, $30 for the card, and $60 for the expedited processing. $220 total. I fucking hate that I need to register with the government to travel. I fucking hate that I need to surrender my privacy to this fascist regime. I fucking hate that my only option for fast travel is by plane. I fucking hate borders.

i fucking have pointless gender markers in documents and whole documents shit
eg in medical there should be just a main hormone estradiol/testosterone because they giving a lot of difference in bloodtests, and some medications metabolize differently(tested on myself)

eg the most painful is medical gender marker, because doctors can fuck brain even on non hormone related blood results eg for hemaglobin which is different on estrogens or prescribe medication at wrong dose and im need to research a lot before taking anything(but this applies to anyone, do not randomly swallow prescribed medication especially from psychiatrists)

and how the fuck digital centralized medical database exist, ANY DUMBSHIT can look a history of my appointments, documents etc, I HATE THIS, when it comes to private care, i still need sign a proccessing personal data, and some private care thing doesnt use it in a good way, hell hell hell, public healthcare database is worst because can be controlled by govr, eg recently russian govr organs got complete access to psychiatric database

govrenments/capitalists always use IT technologies in a wrong way

Absolutely agree, the only context where anything even remotely associated with gender should be on official documents is medical, and hormone is more important in that situation than sex assignment anyway. Medical biobanks will remain a point of stigmatism until we abolish the state.

plus there non binary and intersex ppl too, the med docs only should have hormone to get proper medical care, age but not date of birth is do nothing, but there are a loot different values between age in bloodwork etc etc

real, there also non binary hormones SERMs such as raloxifene lasofoxifene which, agonist to some estrogen receptors but antagonist for breast tissue receptors
