I wonder how many will return after what will be a fairly long gap. S1 was well done, but after the first episode I felt the plot stagnated. New information was rationed to no more than 1 piece an episode.
Too slow for my liking, plus the protagonist isn't very likable. Intentionally so, but it makes watching it more of a chore.
I mean, the slow pacing is kind of a given for a Vince Gilligan production (Breaking Bad and Better Cauldron Saul are very similar).
Some people like to marinate in a world setting, while others don’t.
Similarly, his protagonists tend to be arseholes - they are complex characters, with some charm and likeable characteristics, but definitely not “good” in any sense of the word.
I’m not trying to state that your opinion is impression is wrong - quite the opposite; I felt the same way about Breaking Bad, which is why I ultimately gave up on that show.
Something about Pluribus “clicked” for me, so I enjoy it - but it may just not be the show for you, and that’s perfectly fine!
Breaking Bad worked for me, but BCS was too long between some seasons and when I came back I didn't care anymore. Also BB had a lot more episodes per season, so movement over the course of a season was greater.
