/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

But after the war, we'll find a way to start exploring deep space, meet new alien species and live in a more peaceful existence with all life in the galaxy ...

[–] monotremata@lemmy.ca 3 points 19 hours ago

But not in 2053. We have "the post-atomic horror" to look forward to first.

Is the federation just imperialism in space?

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 15 hours ago

sorta, when they tried to explore the gamma quadrant despite repeated warnings, and threats, and destruction of a colony, they dint stop at all. so the dominion decided to wage war on alpha quadrant.

[–] stupidopensourceBS@lemmy.world 1 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

I thought it was communism in space.

[–] chocrates@piefed.world 1 points 7 hours ago

Humans are post scarcity at least, but resources aren't distributed equally across the federation afaik.

If a Klingon leaves his clan and goes far away, are they now a Feloff?

[–] usernamefactory@lemmy.ca 1 points 18 hours ago

A true Klingon never falls off.

[–] athatet@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 day ago

No because they are a federation and not an empire.

Wait we get to have sex with new alien species?

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Yes ... but they also want to have sex with you.

Don't forget, some alien species have their sex organs on their heads (or other bodily location), some have more than two sexes, some have no sex (and inseminate in other ways), some perform crowd insemination and some eat their partner after insemination.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 2 points 15 hours ago

8472 is probably the kinkiest, they have 5 sexes.

[–] DioramaOfShit@lemmy.world 1 points 21 hours ago

Crossing my fingers for crowd insemination

We must bring Jesus to the aliens

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 day ago

lol ... that would be hilarious ... we get out into the galaxy to explore new worlds and we finally abandon our old ancient religious beliefs only to find out that the Old Testament and Jesus Christ, the Son of God is common to every world we come across.
