Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

“What would be wrong if they said Biden won?” Grassley [R], the 92-year-old chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, was heard loudly asking his aides in a Wednesday hearing.

[...]

Grassley’s remark caught on the mic undermines his public criticisms of Democrats for asking Trump’s nominees this question at all. He opened a hearing earlier this month by lambasting Democrats for having “relentlessly attacked” the president’s nominees with this question, and suggested their questions are “political theater” with no meaningful purpose behind them.

He’s also been giving cover to Trump’s nominees’ evasive answers by arguing it’s accurate when they say Biden was “certified” as president — which is true, except he knows this is how they’ve avoided answering the basic question of who won in 2020.

Is Chuck Grassley not aware that his party is trying to seize absolute power and overthrow the Republic? Or is he trying to save his legacy as if he did not know that is what he is doing?

I suspect the latter, that this is a cynical manipulation to pretend like he did not know he is betraying the United States of America, a traitor, and an oath breaker.

He is still living in the pre-Reagan era where people at least pretended to be civil.

Comrade, that man doesn't know what decade it is, let alone the context of conversations occurring in front of him. The fact that he can still sit up for these committee meetings is itself a miracle.

He is an old hand and it has never been any secret what they have been doing. Don't let these motherfuckers pretend like they didn't know any better. They knew. There are only rare exceptions like perhaps Marjorie Taylor green that did not quite know.

Bro, you letting MTG off the hook is far more egregious than me saying a senile old man, with massive hate in his heart, is senile. I'm not letting anyone off the hook.

For your benefit, we can remember Marjorie Taylor green, dressed as Cruella Deville in first, which I fucking hate for, at the State of the Union Biden's dumbass. Nevertheless, she realized she was mistaken about her allies, and turned on them about epstein, about Iran war, about palestine, about Geo engineering, although a circuitous route on that, what else Healthcare. She is more Progressive than most of the goddamn Democrats! So go fuck yourself.

Comrade. MTG fell out of favor with MAGA, so she's adjusting her messaging to continue the grift. No learning occurred, my gods.

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca -2 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

She chose to reject the party. You are incorrect, she was a true believer, realized her party was the devil, and rejected them.

It is a quality worth celebrating. Marjorie Taylor green is now a good person. Better than the majority of the fucking Democrats go figure.

She's a grifter. If "Trump and Co." were to give her another opportunity at MAGA today, she would gladly accept it without hesitation.

There was no change of heart in MTG, the boss fired her.
