Being from the UK I actually support Nuking them if they try it again, the Falklands are all British Citizens and they voted on it fairly, let them revote if they like.

Also Falklands were British long before Argentina even existed as a Country.

You are just a colonialist imperialist, no one lived in falkland island 200 years ago and britishers came there with settlers who now overwhelmingly vote to stay british. Britishers also get access to key resources surrounding the falkand waters:

Just because some land is inhabited you get claim over it by sending settlers there? Thats classic colonialism. By this same logic israel can end settlers in inhabited palestinian land and claim it? Not to mention this island is an outpost for western imperialism in south america by having a military base there which the US can access anytime.

Argentina have fair claim to falklands because it is close to them geographically, thats all that matters, britishers should get the fuck out.

Anarchists supporting colonialism huh? Didnt think you guys will fall this low.

There’s no need for nuclear weapons at all. The Argentine military barely exists and the government can be dealt with by the planes now permanently stationed on the islands.

we have naked imperialists on lemmy huh

Bit extreme. Being from the UK I couldn't give a shit one way or another which stupid authoritarian government gets custody of the islands and while I am sure the people who live on them do care and presumably the government does a bit, all it all I suspect the vast majority of ppl here would see it as a total shrugfest either way.

I don't think it is extreme they would have attacked Britain twice, there need to be severe consequences for that and a message needs sent.

We should have done it the first time in my opinion.

Then again it won't happen because even the Typhoons stationed there would be more than enough.

You don't think its extreme to set off a nuke over some piddly islands with probs more sheep than people in the South Atlantic? Are you daft?

[–] Teknikal@anarchist.nexus -2 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

Not if attacked no I don't, why pay billions to have them if you aren't going to make an example. Seems the world's not taking Britain seriously thanks to Trump.

I think using it would make the world realise just how dangerous these things are and a lot of things would get fixed after. Would be a nice little message to both Putin and others as a bonus.

[–] lucidity@hexbear.net 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

You sound completely unhinged.

[–] Teknikal@anarchist.nexus 0 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

What is unhinged is having to send troops there again, it's not the UK's fault if Argentina hasn't learnt it's lesson the first time they would have had their chance.

The people on the Falklands are as British as the people living in London.

If they get attacked again Britain should respond with full force and we have the Nukes so imo we should use them and make a point.

[–] lucidity@hexbear.net 3 points 6 days ago

Its stupid to kill people at all over a pointless territorial dispute. Its UNHINGED to suggest killing cities worth of civillians with a nuke because of beef between their authoritarian admins.
