Even that makes no sense. Public taxes were paying for science that is then exploited for free by businesses. It's pure stupidity.

It's stupidity if you're not several billions of dollars in debt, and clearing that debt is a matter of easily and unilaterally seizing public money.

Don't get me wrong - he's stealing the money - but he's not giving it to ANYBODY else.
