From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Why not Thunderbird + Birdtray?
I didn't know about birdtray. I don't know how but
Gnome Calendar (Flatpak) + Evolution
seems to be giving me background notifications for now. I looked atBirdtray
it was 700mbs or something, I don't see the point of Flatpaks being that huge. I mean, I need to buy a new laptop if I need to run all flatpak. Anyways, thank you! That's not the case. Flatpak shows to be big because it includes the runtimes. But runtimes are shared between applications, so the size diff is not that much as it says.
Birdtray itself is about 1MB, but additionally pulls in dedicated Flatpak dependencies that it needs. If you use many Flatpaks, they share their dependencies just like a normal packaging system and become more efficient that way.
