Trinidad sour is a must try cocktail. Use a strong orgeat; I like Liber & Co. but I’m sure you can find others similar.
1 measure heavily smoked mezcal
½ measure of gin
½ measure of demerara rum
5 heavy dashes of angostura bitters
Juice of 1 half lime Top with carbonated water and express lime rind on the result
I call it Pink Smoke
You can taste the gin in that?

A decent Plymouth to punch that juniper through?
That's basically a given if you want gin taste but not gin bulk 🫶
Reminder to check if the mezcal has artificial smoke flavoring before you buy. The artificial stuff is indistinguishable for most people.
