taiwan has two giant companies that are keeping the whole economy afloat somehow

the economy absolutely does not trickle down though, average salaries are ridiculously low, no one can afford to buy a house, small businesses are closing every day

it's going to be very funny (and also even more tragic for normal people) once the llm bubble pops and the chip prices plummet and the whole inflatable bouncy castle flaccidly flops over

Now that I think of it, we don't get any cultural import from Taiwan in the west, unlike we do with Japan and Bad Korea. They must truly be miserable if we don't get any media coverage whatsoever in the style of "how wonderful life in Taiwan is in comparison with horrific Gyna"

Taiwanese cultural exports all go to mainland China

Music dominates there because there's too much bureaucracy with censorship and filtering from the CPC for mainlanders to compete
