~~I'd say it's a real dilemma. "Commit war crimes, or see your whole carreer crumble to dust, along with everything you've ever worked for". Thats tough, especially since the US has no real social safety nets that would protect you in case the administration goes rogue on you. Some of the soldiers might be good people. I pity them.~~
Edit: yeah, I thought about it a bit more thoroughly. I was wrong, sorry. Nothing is more important than human rights.
You misunderstand. Dilemma is not in quotes because the moral decision is the obvious choice. Dilemma is in quotes because US military officers opposed to committing war crimes is the exception, not the rule. The war crimes will be committed enthusiastically.
The real dilemma should be commit war crimes or have a bullet passing through your head
If they think at all about the decision to commit war crimes instead of going to get a job, they are not good people. That sentence is just wrong.
