Can someone explain to me why moonlanding deniers are currently claiming Buzz Aldrin now also denies the moonlanding? This is something I've had a real life ~~idiot~~ person say to me.

Buzz was answering a question from a young girl about why we haven't gone back to the moon in so long. During his answer he said the words "because we didn't go there" as part of a longer answer about why we hadn't gone back. Moon landing deniers clip that and act like it an admission that the moon landings didn't happen.

Literally in the same answer he talks about going to and returning from the moon.

I am also curious to know, as I've also run into this recently.

My knowledge of Buzz Aldrin involves him punching a moon landing denier in the face for saying he faked the whole thing, so I feel like this must be some sort of new denier disinfo campaign.

Bart Sibrel got punched. He is a professional moon landing denier who has. He makes his living off moon landing denial stuff. He has hassled various Apollo astronauts by ambushing them and insisting they swear on the Bible that they actually went to the moon.
