Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.
The rules are simple:
- The post can be a single image, an image gallery, or a link to a specific comic hosted on another site (the author's website, for instance).
- The comic must be a complete story.
- If it is an external link, it must be to a specific story, not to the root of the site.
- You may post comics from others or your own.
- If you are posting a comic of your own, a maximum of one per week is allowed (I know, your comics are great, but this rule helps avoid spam).
- The comic can be in any language, but if it's not in English, OP must include an English translation in the post's 'body' field (note: you don't need to select a specific language when posting a comic).
- Politeness.
- AI-generated comics aren't allowed.
- Limit of two posts per person per day.
- Bots aren't allowed.
- Banned users will have their posts removed.
- Adult content is not allowed. This community aims to be fun for people of all ages.

I've been thinking, how come I see multiple people bring them up and I haven't seen their posts myself? Turns out I've already blocked them at some point in the past
That’s why I tag instead of block. Then I get to play a little game and see if I can guess which moron it is before I see the tag. Let’s see now… is this one “AI bootlicker,” “Horndog trying too hard,” “Breathing app shill,” “Is ‘nonce’ the right word,” or “absolute fucking moron?” Oh wait, it’s “credit cropping little bitch.”
Quite frankly, I don't care why I did it. I block people to preserve my mental health, whenever I notice that seeing someone's replies is getting on my nerves. If that makes my Lemmy experience an echo chamber, so be it. I'd rather be stuck in my ways than have my mood ruined by words of a stranger I've never seen and will never meet.
Since I adopted the mantra of 'block early and often' things have been much better and nothing of value has been lost.
No, this is not politics, you are not building an echo chamber. This is about respect, and people can respectfully disagree and I won't block them, but there's no reason anyone should have to put up with disrespectful users. I also blocked that one user that censored every swear word in shitposts. Fuck that person too. They both shouldn't modify people's works without permission.
can I get blocked, too?
No
Same!
...and now I wonder what they did to earn a block back when I did it.
They're pretty obnoxious, so it could be any number of things.
It would be cool if we had a web of trust. So if everyone you've been upvoting keeps downvoting someone, then that someone's posts are hidden by default.
Example:
post hidden due to poor reputation
Here's a long rambling story that looks like it might be interesting...[pages]
... and that's why we should expand child labor.
I rarely block, but I tag with Voyager. That way I'm not missing any conversation, I'll see a warning for comments likely to be disingenuous, and they don't live rent-free in my head.
