I mean he always credits in the description. Not sure why this is the main focus of Lemmy
Comic Strips
Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.
The rules are simple:
- The post can be a single image, an image gallery, or a link to a specific comic hosted on another site (the author's website, for instance).
- The comic must be a complete story.
- If it is an external link, it must be to a specific story, not to the root of the site.
- You may post comics from others or your own.
- If you are posting a comic of your own, a maximum of one per week is allowed (I know, your comics are great, but this rule helps avoid spam).
- The comic can be in any language, but if it's not in English, OP must include an English translation in the post's 'body' field (note: you don't need to select a specific language when posting a comic).
- Politeness.
- AI-generated comics aren't allowed.
- Limit of two posts per person per day.
- Bots aren't allowed.
- Banned users will have their posts removed.
- Adult content is not allowed. This community aims to be fun for people of all ages.

The issue was laid out in the comic I made. These images will be shared without credit; there is no way around that. By deliberately removing credit, it will remove the credit/attribution potentially many thousands of times in the long run.
Where's beep?
Blocking them isn't enough, because the harm they do with the plagiarism goes beyond stinking up your personal feed. This kind of stuff proliferates. People save the image to post somewhere else, and so on. Annoyingly, plagiarism doesn't seem to be against the rules in this comminity, but I really think it should be.
@lawrence@lemmy.world Care to weigh in?
The moderator has been inactive for months. That's why beep is getting away with all their rule breaking.
The admins are actively looking for mods.
Is there a post about this somewhere?
Not that I'm aware of.
Given how they lean into it and how they act in this thread and others calling him out, they're doing it on purpose. To piss people off. As in they are a full on troll and need to be banished back under their bridge, across all instances that give a shit.
That's why I made this shitty comic. People need to not block, but heavily down vote this behavior. I will die on this hill. I'm not going to look, but it is at least hundreds of posts that this fuck makes with the intent of hurting artists.
The whole "don't feed the troll" thing needs to be inversely applied here. Downvote all of it. Period. For every post that this idiot troll makes, there is at least 1 person that doesn't see or care what's going on and they'll download the image without attribution, share it, and the problem continues.
Negative attention is still attention. You need to deprive the troll of what they want. What they want is attention. Deprive them of it by ignoring them entirely.
I get it. But until the mod maybe wakes up, the best we can do is push bad content down.
KOLANAKI
I've been thinking, how come I see multiple people bring them up and I haven't seen their posts myself? Turns out I've already blocked them at some point in the past
Thank you. Beep is blocked.
And then it hit me. You know why b__p is cropping signatures and remaking comics with AI?
It's not because of some misaligned anti advertisement agenda.
It's because they can't produce anything themselves but want to give the illusion by stealing other people's stuff and desperately trying to funnel all credit to themselves as the provider of funsies.
That is some pathetic bottom feeder behaviour. Defeatist about themselves to even try do something of their own and submitting to theft for validation.
I can't believe I left Reddit and Xitter, to be free from AI bros and still am going to be encountering them.
I was unaware of this guy and just looked him up.
Wow, what a loser.
Not only that, but also, how am I supposed to find the artist's other comics or the follow up if it's a series? Reverse search? It's incredibly stupid.
So, I read this community through RSS. How do I block him 😅
Click the three dots by his name and select "block user."
I don't know who that is, but if I could verify/clarify by looking at their post history, I'd probably block them if what you say is true... ohhhhh hey, looks like the dipshit himself commented on this very post like an edgelord and is conveniently the most downvoted comment.
Joke with a message aside, I noticed I already had downvoted the guy multiple times before. Looks like he likes to post ai slop as well and becomes a combative baby bitch when called out. Even better, some of the ai slop uses the "hUmAn BaD" trope. And I did indeed check up on and confirm the cropping out artist credit. He's a combative baby bitch when called out on that, too.
he likes to post ai slop
That's an understatement. When Beep doesn't crop out the artist, they literally recreate a worse version of the comic using AI and post that. Yeah...
mental illness
I blocked Beep because they constantly horny post and also post capitalist propaganda.
I'm pretty sure they just want to annoy everyone on Lemmy.
How come someone who hates ads is a capitalist?
And it's neither good horny posting nor good propaganda, they need to up their troll game
I don't like Beep's opinions, or stealing, so have blocked him/her, problem solved
Just blocked them, thanks for the heads up 👍
