It gave the leader of a nonprofit involved with it "a very grimy feeling."

Friendly reminder that OpenAI is not open source - despite its name it's simply another pos run by our esteemed techbros Altman and Musk

And behind them just like so many other rich people is Peter Thiel, this one colossal douchebag is spearheading our descent into a tech dystopia where we are constantly monitored and we own nothing.

When asked if he prefers the human race continues existing or not Peter Thiel hesitated and was like “er uhh well”. That should tell any regular person what type of ghoul he is.

I would also question the second part of their name as they have only produced one kind of ‘AI’ software as far as I know, as opposed to say IBM who’s various AI implementations have beat chess masters and won Jeopardy.

Oh yeah, I too am not happy about the tech world calling this creation AI when it doesn't mimic thinking for itself -- it's still just working on strict parameters under variable parameters, it's just code, and as such performs pretty much every task poorly compared to humans*. 'AI' was supposed to be reserved for what I suppose is now AGI.

*Unless you pour massive money, resources, energy and labour into making a model that's still as bad, but much faster and pretends to be an AGI

they were open sourcing stuff for a while...
Also, Musk and Altman aren't friends anymore.

Elon Musk’s lawsuit against OpenAI, set for trial on April 28, 2026, alleges OpenAI and CEO Sam Altman breached their original nonprofit mission, demanding up to $134 billion in damages. Musk claims he was defrauded into investing $38M in a for-profit pivot that benefits Microsoft. OpenAI claims the suit is a "frivolous" effort to cripple a competitor.

Friendly reminder that HuggingFace has some very nice gpt's and other NN's you can get for free.
Also Claude's source code leaked and it's way better than chatGPT

Yeah boii, I wanted to use someone's concoction of Qwen3.5 and Claude, but it wasn't compatible with Ollama for some reason. Link
