well shit. Guess who had an adult flea found on them at the vet.

Thankfully we don't have any carpets, curtains now on the line, next lot of hot wash on, beanbag in a vacuum bag in the sun with diatomaceous earth, goop on everyone..... thankfully we don't need to worry so much about skirting boards and cracks, those get dusted with DE regularly for bastard ant invasions

Full encasement covers for mattresses. Encase, leave on for at least 6 months. Must kill all generations....

Oh do you know where I can get Diatomaceous earth? I tried looking at Bunnings online but it's a piece of shit website now πŸ˜‚

Would it be at like, garden stores? I'm thinking of getting food grade for the stupid carpet moths.

Good thing you caught the fleas early! They breed like freaking rabbits 😭

Ebay probably has it still. Get food grade, not the kind used for pools.

If you can’t find DE, silica gel dust is more powerful and you can get a rubber bulb for dusting it finely. It’s sold as Cimexa.

Beware though, it’s super fine so hangs in the air for ages and is an inhalation hazard. Wear *mask and avoid breathing it (silicosis).

Totally cool if you don’t want to use it

vitec is the only one I trust, they do food grade. Can buy direct from them, or any place that sells stock feed edit: updated link.

Envying the lack of carpet. If you wanted extra options to spray the house Sundew flea spray has imidacloprid instead of pyrethrins. So while the scent won’t be good for the cats it’s not outright toxic.

And I think it was Capstar that was instant knockdown for the adult fleas.

Yah we have some sundew on the way, also his lordship is picking up some exelpet spray at coles as we speak.

I'm trying vanilla because I have a genetic hatred of lavender (I'm not even kidding multiple family members hate the smell). Has shipped express today, hopefully comes before da weekend
