Yes, because money will bring back these people to their families.
That's exactly what I meant. Good insight. /s
No, but it may prevent loosing more
No it will fucking not. What it will do is put a dollar value on human lives so that future actuaries and BigBalls types can figure out just how much death is economical.
Everyone knee jerks to lawsuits following a tragedy in the US.
Even there, it's the federal government. They make the money, and basically pay for things by typing in whatever number they need. Nobody in Washington will even track it except maybe for photo ops.
Again, it's not about making the money, it's about taking the money. And to state the obvious, money does not equal human life here. It is a punishment and spare me the "if your rich that's just the cost of doing business" drone.
They're not just rich, though, they literally define money. They might as well sue for brownie points, unless it's enough to actually alter the macroeconomic balance of the country.
Money won't bring them back but it will
A: make sure they will not suffer financially due to losing a family member (and it has to be much higher than their relative would earn in his or her lifetime) B: make the idiots that allowed this suffer financially. They do not care about human life. They only care about money. They need to be hit where it hurts.
Who, the federal aircraft controllers?
No, their bosses.
The federal government?
Like I said to someone else, losing money doesn't hurt them, because money is a thing they make up.
