Started Pokémon Pokopia!

I have only played a little but it's a fun cozy game. I seem to be going slow, as my kid has played about the same amount of time as me, but has unlocked twice the Pokémon. Have been itching for a cozy game to play for a while. Tried Cozy Grove a little while back but while it was fun in the start I didn't enjoy it for long. Hopefully this will fare better.

Also started Dying Light. I am not really a horror fan, but I added this to my wishlist a long time, probably when it was released, so just wanted to try it, even if I end up not liking it. So, got it on sale.

Just cleared the Prologue and the game isn't bad so far, but then again, I haven't played a night mission yet, and all the zombies have been very basic variety.

Played a bit of Tom Clancy's The Division, slowly clearing the side missions and leveling up. Have cleared the level 20 main mission, and I think level cap is 30, so still a bit left.

Haven't played much Xuan Yuan Sword: Mists Beyond the Mountains or Hard West this week.

What about all of you? What have you been playing and/or plan to play?

Thank you for asking me about Pokotopia. I “finished” it today and I’m really mad about it. First, it was an almost perfect formula for me. It was a Dragon Quest Builders sequel without all that pesky fighting. But I made the mistake of Spring Break: I poured time into it. Instead of playing a little or even an hour each day, I spent five hours plus for a week fulfilling main missions and moving the story forward. The problem is that the main story is not the point of the game, so when I’d completed the story, I felt done and unsatisfied.

To anyone else playing, I recommend devoting yourself to whatever you find in it that it fun. For me, it was paving roads. I don’t think I had a more enjoyable three hour period than when I put yellow stone flooring throughout the town. When I mentioned it to my wife, she commented that “of course you love the infrastructure parts”.

Dollar to hour enjoyed ratio was excellent, but I should have known better and paced myself on the game. There’s more to it, though. As soon as the credits were done, I found a new Pokémon.

Little Rocket Lab and Pokémon Pokotopia spoilersI was amused that the ending for Little Rocket Lab and Pokotopia were basically the same.

Most of my “gaming” is getting the next season in my Kahoot! Challenge for my 7th grade students. This season will be based on softball and baseball, and programming the excel spreadsheet to take in Kahoot data and spit out a baseball box score has occupied a joyful majority of my leisure time. The spreadsheet is getting so big that between mass copying formulas, I had time to write into my favorite thread on Lemmy.

I have been mainly doing main missions, and have just unlocked the next map, but decided not to move forward until I have done everything in the first map. So spending time to get all the Pokémon I can get here, and cleaning up the main area nicely before moving on.

I work 2-3 nights in a row with 2-3 off in between, so I've been limiting myself to only jumping into Pokopia once between each batch of shifts so that I won't overdo it. Once I start though, that's it for the day - it's bedtime the next time I'm aware of my surroundings.

I mainly just chill out in Palette Town (or Paulette Town because my Ditto is named Paul), building habitats and trying to make it into a nice little village. Despite spending at least a good 20 hours there I've barely made it 30 seconds' jog away from the entry road. I'm basically only doing the story so that I'll have more options for building and more friends to bring in, like I think I'll need to get into the next (4th) main map to find cable cars to unlock the item for one of Eevee's mates. I just like making my own little slice of paradise in post-apocalyptia.
